So I purchased the domain name PSEGSUCKS.COM in hopes to make an online forum for people to share their PSE&G horror stories. I received a letter from some lawyer telling me that PSE&G takes great pride in protecting their name, yadda yadda ya, and That I'm to "turn over this name to them as settlement".
Settlement of what?? I own the name! I purchased it fair & square! If they were so worried about it- they should have purchased the name long before I did. I'm not going to turn over my Camaro to Ford because they don't like BowTie on the front! Where do they get off trying to persuade me with some tactical lawyer scare letter.
I will NOT turn over the name. I am more than willing to sell it to them (that would be called "good business practice"). I'm not trying to be slanderous by owning the domain name PSEGSUCKS.COM - this is mearly my opinion, which I am entitled to and there is that "free speech" thing that apparently I'm the only dummy that believes in it. Not to mention a few million other PSE&G customers that feel the same as I.
So what would such a domain name fetch at auction?
Anyone, Anyone?? ;)
Why I dislike PSE&G so much!!!!

I installed Solar and Wind and my Electric Bill WENT UP!!!
So I decided to "Go Green" and save a few bucks on my electric bill (yeah right).
I have a really small house- just about 1300sq ft, and Im very energy conscious. I use CFL's, everthing is on timers so its off during the day when nobody's home, etc..
I installed a small off-grid hybrid system - About 850w of solar and about 3-400w of wind charging a battery bank with a capacity of 1100aH. The system works by charging batteries during the day and using that stored energy during the night when its needed.
I literally cut my electricity bill in half, my actual usage is only $30/mo now - BUT the 2nd month in I noticed my delivery charge had skyrocketed though the roof. I was paying about $30-$35 for electricity delivery and now im paying between $80-$95 per month for delivery.. Crazy, right!?
Well, I called and complained but it does no good because this is how PSE&G Operates..
So, now I will continue expanding my system, and eventually will tell them to come pull their meter all together and I will no longer be at their mercy. That day should be arriving by 2014 and I cant wait!

Check your Electric Meters!!!!!
Check your electric meters! Mine was still spinning after I killed the main to the house. I called PSE&G and demanded a new meter. I asked about a comp and they said they would have to "test" the meter and I would get the results in about a month. After about 1 year of the runaround and multiple inquiries regarding the test results, I finally reached someone that told me the results were mailed to me. I never received them, but they claim that no defect or malfunction was found. Kinda funny since the new meter doesnt spin when you kill the main..
I never did get a service credit.
PSE&G's New Solar Project
You may have noticed that PSE&G is installing solar panels on utility poles. What most of you don't realize is that they are being installed INCORRECTLY!!! For one, they are being installed as the "LOWEST POINT on the POLE" in most cases. They are also being installed with all kinds of obstacles blocking the sun, which casts a shodow onto the panel, rendering the panel extremely inefficient or useless all together - and guess who will be paying for these!? - You guessed it - YOU WILL! Your rates WILL go up!
Ok- here's another problem with the installs.
By being the lowest point on the pole, Verizon (or other telcoms who lease pole space) may not be permitted to service their own wires or equipment any more. Granted I cant stand Verizon anymore than PSE&G, but they still have equipment to service and PSE&G wont allow them to. Thus making your verizon (or other) bill more expensive because they will most likely have to pay PSEG to service their equip.
